Class Level & Ability
Sewing Skill Levels
We’ve designed our class levels to help you find the perfect place to start — and a clear path to grow your skills. Whether you’re brand new to sewing or ready to tackle advanced techniques, there’s a class for you.
Beginner (🧵)
New to sewing? You’re in the right place. This level is all about getting comfortable with your machine, learning basic stitches, and understanding simple construction. We’ll move step-by-step, keeping things relaxed, approachable, and confidence-building.
Confident Beginner (🧵🧵)
You’ve got the basics down and you’re ready for more. In these classes, you’ll build on foundational skills while learning new techniques like inserting zippers, sewing buttons, and working with different finishes. Expect a supportive pace with a few exciting challenges along the way.
Intermediate (🧵🧵🧵)
Time to level up your skills. These classes focus on refining technique and introducing more detailed construction—think garment structure, fit, and thoughtful finishing. You’ll gain independence and start making more polished, professional-looking pieces.
Advanced (🧵🧵🧵🧵)
For sewists who are confident and detail-oriented. These classes dive deeper into precision sewing, more complex construction, and advanced techniques. You’ll work through multi-step processes and elevate both your skills and your craftsmanship.
Challenging (🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵)
Our most in-depth classes. Designed for experienced sewists ready to tackle intricate techniques like tailoring or specialty sewing. These sessions are focused, skill-heavy, and highly rewarding—perfect for those looking to truly master their craft.
If you’re unsure which level is right, just ask — we’re always happy to help.
