This beginner-friendly dressmaking class is perfect for anyone who has used a sewing machine a little but doesn’t yet feel confident making a full garment on their own.

Craft your own cozy loungewear or daywear with this fun two-week sewing adventure! Learn to whip up a pair of Mila Pants or Shorts by Michelle Design Co. Perfect for beginners, this project teaches essential techniques while creating something you'll actually wear. Features a relaxed fit, low-rise elasticated waist with optional drawstring.
Sizing: Hip 89 cm - 160 cm (35” - 63”)

Sewing machines are provided. If you prefer to learn on your own machine, you’re welcome to bring it, just be sure it’s in good working order.

- Light to Medium Weight Fabrics e.g.
🪡Cotton (poplin, seersucker, lawn)
🪡Viscose/Rayon

- Matching Thread 
- 1.5" wide elastic (knit or woven)
- 2 cm x 4 cm (3/4" x 1 5/8") piece of fusible interfacing (if sewing buttonholes)

You are more than welcome to bring you own fabric from home or to purchase in-store at The Makery. Please remember that fabrics MUST be washed + ironed before class to avoid shrinkage. 

This workshop is a great for those that have the basic understanding of sewing, but would like to give garment making a go.

All class fees are non-refundable. Cancellations or changes must be made at least 72 hours in advance to receive store credit. Late cancellations and no-shows forfeit the class fee. For more information please read our cancellation policy.

Age Policy
Our workshops are designed for participants aged 16 and over to ensure the best possible learning experience. Participants aged 16–17 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+ who is also taking the class, you must have a signed waiver before the class begins.
