Master the art of fleece knit sewing in this hands-on intermediate workshop at The Makery. Learn to construct the Pine Raglan Sweater by Paradise Patterns with expert guidance from instructor Siobhan O'Connor, including essential techniques like serging, zigzag stitch and working with knit fabrics.

Perfect for confident sewers ready to expand their skills with stretch fabrics. You'll leave with the skills to finish a  garment and the knowledge to tackle knit projects independently.

The Pine Raglan Sweatshirt is a classic design with a comfortable, oversized fit and slightly chunkier neckband for a vintage, unisex vibe.

Prerequisite: Must be confident sewing garments, reading patterns and working from a pattern. 

Skills you’ll learn:
🧵 How to thread, set up, and safely operate a sewing machine
🧵 How to sew with knits
🧵How to install neckbands & cuffs.
🧵 Using a zigzag stitch 
🧵 Reading & cutting a pattern

*You may not finish your project in the allocated time*

Sewing machines are provided. If you prefer to learn on your own machine, you’re welcome to bring it, just be sure it’s in good working order and let us know before hand.

Age Policy
Our workshops are designed for participants aged 16 and over to ensure the best possible learning experience. Participants aged 16–17 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+ who is also taking the class, you must have a signed waiver before the class begins.
